Israeli medical technology firm Beyeonics Surgical announced that it has appointed Sharon Bakalash as its new chief medical officer.
An ophthalmic surgeon and biotech entrepreneur, Bakalash, has offered consulting support to Beyeonics and other startups and firms for years. She previously served with Novartis, where she led the company’s U.S. early development portfolio for ophthalmology and ear, nose and throat products.
Beyeonics Surgical is developing imaging and head-mounted display technologies, including an augmented reality visualization platform that replaces the traditional microscope.
