Collagen Matrix Acquires Sunstar’s Degradable Product Line

Collagen Matrix announced that it has purchased Sunstar’s degradable solutions division, an acquisition that includes the company’s Guidor line of synthetic resorbable implants.

The acquisition earns Collagen Matrix the Guidor family of bone graft substitutes, known as “calc-i-oss” and “easy-graft,” as well as the Guidor bioresorbable matrix barrier membranes, which are used in dental surgical and restoration procedures.

Collagen Matrix CEO Shawn McCarthy said the Guidor products complement Collagen’s proprietary collagen-based products and will enable the company to offer “a comprehensive portfolio of regenerative medicine products.” The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
