Dentsply Sirona Buys Clear Aligner Developer for $1 Billion

Charlotte, N.C.-based Dentsply Sirona announced that it has acquired Byte, a company that specializes in at-home teeth straightening aligners, for just over $1 billion.

The acquisition nets Dentsply Byte’s invisible braces, which are customized for patients and used at home. Dentsply manufactures SureSmile, a laser-trimmed, fitted clear-aligner treatment.

Byte’s current management team and CEO Neeraj Gunsagar will stay on with the company following the acquisition.
