T2 Biosystems Selects New Chief Medical Officer

Massachusetts-based T2 Biosystems, a sepsis diagnostic developer, has appointed Aparna Ahuja as its new chief medical officer.

Ahuja, who brings global experience in laboratory medicine, medical devices and diagnostics to the company, most recently served as Becton Dickinson’s worldwide vice president of medical affairs.

T2 Biosystems has multiple diagnostic applications in development and its T2Bacteria and T2Candida tests are the only assays cleared by the FDA for detecting sepsis-causing bacterial and fungal pathogens directly from whole blood samples in three to five hours, the company said.
