Biomerica Earns CE Mark for Rapid Coronavirus Test

Biomerica has earned a CE mark certification for its COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test, a diagnostic that requires no equipment to process.

The portable test returns results in 15 minutes that reveal if a patient is infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. Because it doesn’t require a medical laboratory, the test can be used in point-of-care settings.

The Irvine, Calif.-based company said it has already received orders for the test in Europe and is gearing up to ship them “in the coming weeks.”
