Novaerus Gets FDA’s Greenlight for Microorganism Air Filter

Novaerus has received 510(k) marketing clearance from the FDA for its Defend 1050 system, an air-filtering device that inactivates and filters out airborne microorganisms.

The free-standing, portable air-filter system is designed to provide extra frontline protection in healthcare settings, including operating rooms, intensive care units, waiting and treatment areas, and emergency rooms.

The system uses the company’s patented NanoStrike technology that employs a plasma field to rapidly inactivate microorganisms at the molecular level.
