DJO Acquires Foot and Ankle Implant Firm Trilliant Surgical

DJO announced that it is expanding into the orthopedic-implant market with the purchase of Houston, Tex.-based Trilliant Surgical, a developer of foot and ankle implants, for an undisclosed amount.

Trilliant has a broad portfolio of foot reconstruction and fixation products, including the Arsenal Foot-Plating System, a titanium alloy system used for fusions, fractures and bone-removal procedures.

Several factors are driving the growth of the foot and ankle product market in the U.S., including the rapidly increasing elderly population and the increased prevalence of diabetes and related lower-extremity conditions, DJO said.
