Philips to Purchase Capsule Technologies for $635 Million

Philips has agreed to acquire Capsule Technologies, an international developer of medical data technology, for $635 million.

Capsule offers the Capsule Medical Device Information Platform, a single platform designed for medical device integration, patient monitoring and clinical surveillance that is meant to be used across all of a hospital’s departments and entire healthcare systems.

The deal is expected to finalize in the first quarter of the year, following regulatory clearances across jurisdictions outside the U.S.
