Olympus Purchases Quest Photonic Devices for $60.7 Million

Olympus has announced that it will acquire Quest Photonic Devices, a fluorescent-imaging system developer, for approximately $60.7 million.

Through the acquisition, Olympus will gain Quest’s advanced fluorescence-imaging systems used for surgical endoscopies, including its main product line, the Quest Spectrum Fluorescence Imaging System, which is used for open and minimally invasive procedures.

Quest’s technology uses targeted fluorescent dyes with specific light wavelengths to visualize tissues or lesions that cannot be seen clearly under normal white light.
