Novartis to Help Produce Pfizer/BioNTech Vaccine

Novartis has signed an initial agreement with BioNTech to help manufacture the German company’s COVID-19 vaccine co-developed with Pfizer.

Under the deal, Novartis will fill the vaccine’s bulk mRNA active ingredient into vials at its plant in Stein, Switzerland, for shipping back to BioNTech.

Novartis says it will send its first shipment during the third quarter of 2021, if a final agreement is reached.
