Europe Designates New MDR Notified Body in Finland

SGS FIMKO Oy, a Helsinki, Finland-based subsidiary of certification titan SGS, has become the 18^th notified body designated to certify products under the European Medical Device Regulation (MDR).

SGS has recently gained an expanded network of laboratories and customer service centers covering 11 countries with the acquisition of Munich, Germany-based Synlab Analytics and Services.

In other certification news, the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency said that devices with CE mark certifications will continue to enjoy UK recognition until June 30, 2023 even though the UK is no longer a member of the European Union.
