Newronika Earns CE Mark for Parkinson’s Treatment

Newronika has obtained CE mark certification for its AlphaDBS system, a deep brain neurostimulation system for Parkinson’s disease.

The rechargeable system is able to continuously record and assess bioelectrical neuronal activity in areas of the brain where it delivers stimulation. It also uses proprietary sensing technology to make recordings of brain activity during stimulation.

The company said the system’s closed-loop stimulation feature, which automatically adjusts to patients’ individual needs, is currently in clinical evaluation.
