Becton Dickinson Acquires Smart Medication Storage System Developer

Becton Dickinson has acquired GSL Solutions, a Vancouver, Washington-based company that develops smart medication devices for storing and tracking controlled substances and drugs.

Through the acquisition, Becton Dickinson will acquire GSL’s standalone storage cabinets that securely store prescriptions and automatically alert patients when prescriptions are ready. GSL also offers standalone storage cabinets for controlled substances.

Becton Dickinson said the acquisition will help enable a new suite of BD products and services for retail and outpatient pharmacies."

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
