SD Biosensor’s COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test Gets Health Canada OK

South Korea-based SD Biosensor has received an interim authorization from Health Canada for its STANDARD Q COVID-19 Antigen Test Kit.

The rapid test does not require the use of any instruments and it can detect SARS-CoV-2 in 15 minutes, enabling speedy isolation of infected patients. It is designed for use within five to seven days from the onset of symptoms.

The test kit was the first rapid antigen test approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization. It is also approved in Europe, Australia and South Korea.
