Oxford University Launches Inhaled COVID-19 Vaccine Trial

March 29, 2021

Oxford University has begun a clinical trial to evaluate the immune response to an inhaled form of its COVID-19 vaccine co-developed with AstraZeneca.

Oxford is enrolling a small sample of 30 healthy volunteers, aged 18 to 40 years, for this first study of the formulation that will be administered through the nose.

Researchers from Oxford and Imperial College London started a separate trial in September 2020 to evaluate inhaled COVID-19 vaccine candidates to assess the immune response in the respiratory tract.
