Cardiovascular Systems Acquires WavePoint Medical Catheters

St. Paul, Minn.-based Cardiovascular Systems announced that it has acquired a line of peripheral support catheters from the Minneapolis startup WavePoint Medical.

WavePoint, which focuses on high-performance microcatheters for interventional cardiovascular indications, has also agreed to develop a line of specialty catheters used in treating chronic total occlusions and complex percutaneous coronary intervention procedures for Cardiovascular Systems.

The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the deal. Cardiovascular Systems intends to introduce the newly acquired catheters next year as its ViperCross line.
