UK’s MHRA Unveils Drugs Innovative Licensing and Access Pathway

The UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has launched a new program aimed at speeding approvals of drugs that are life-threatening or provide a significant public health benefit.

The Innovative Licensing and Access Pathway (ILAP) is seen as a move to attract drug sponsors to file for new approvals now that the country no longer formally takes part in the European Medicines Agency’s regulatory processes.

Companies who wish to participate in the ILAP must apply for an “Innovation Passport” and provide details of why their product should be considered for the pathway.
