Latest Generation of Abbott’s Heart Valve Repair Device CE Marked

April 9, 2021

The newest generation of Abbott’s heart valve repair device, TriClip G4, has earned the CE mark, clearing its use in Europe.

The minimally invasive transcatheter tricuspid valve repair system is now cleared in Europe for treating tricuspid regurgitation, a condition in which the valve between the heart’s two right chambers do not close properly.

The clip-based device is a nonsurgical heart valve repair option that enables physicians to customize valve repairs based on the patient’s unique anatomy. It is delivered to the heart using a catheter inserted in the patient’s femoral vein.
