Quantitative Radiology’s Radiation Treatment Planning Software Cleared by FDA

April 23, 2021

The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance for Quantitative Radiology’s Automatic Anatomy Recognition (AAR) technology for use in planning radiation treatments.

The software automatically processes computed tomography studies to generate contours for organs at risk during radiology treatment planning. The technology runs on a cloud-based platform and does not require any specific treatment planning system.

Clinical evaluation at four radiation treatment centers” demonstrated that AAR improves the accuracy and consistency of organ at-risk contouring and reduces the time required for treatment planning,” the company said.
