SpeeDx’s COVID-19 Test Receives European Clearance

SpeeDx has received CE mark certification for its PlexPCR SARS-CoV-2 assay, a test that is able to detect all currently known variants of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

The test, which targets two highly conserved parts of the SARS-CoV-2 genome that are similar in any of the variants, is designed for high-throughput quantitative PCR systems and liquid handling robotics.

Using automated software analysis and the company’s PlexPrep liquid handling system, 480 to 1,920 patient samples can be processed in an 8-hour shift, the company said.
