Accuray Selects New Chief Medical and Technology Officer

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based radiation therapy developer Accuray has named Jean-Philippe Pignol as its chief medical and technology officer.

Pignol brings more than 26 years of academic and clinical practice experience. For the past three years he served as professor and department head of Dalhousie University’s radiation oncology department. He also spent four years as professor and chair of Erasmus University Medical Center’s department of radiation oncology.

Pignol has also worked extensively in the clinical trials arena, having led and participated in clinical studies that evaluated an array of new techniques and applications for radiation therapy delivery.
