Implandata Ophthalmic Products Gets Breakthrough Status for Remote Glaucoma Monitor

April 29, 2021

The FDA has granted Implandata Ophthalmic Products breakthrough device designation for its Eyemate system, a digital device for the remote monitoring and management of glaucoma patients.

The device enables patients to measure their intraocular pressures at any time. And the measurements are automatically sent to their doctor for use in adjusting therapy.

The Eyemate features an implantable and biocompatible micro-sensor powered by an external handheld device. The system was previously cleared for use in Europe.
