Becton Dickinson Appoints New Chief Technology Officer

Becton Dickinson (BD) has named Elizabeth McCombs as its new chief technology officer, a position in which she will lead all the company’s research and development activities.

McCombs has more than 20 years of experience in medical device innovation. She previously served as BD’s senior vice president of R&D for its medical branch. Early in her career, she served at Ethicon Endo-Surgery and later moved on to increasingly senior roles.

BD earned more than $17 billion in 2020, down by approximately 1 percent from the previous year. But the company is anticipating revenue growth this year of “high single- to low double-digits” on a percentage basis.
