Abbott Earns CE Mark for Coronary Imaging Platform

Abbott’s coronary imaging system has received CE mark certification, clearing its use in Europe for visualizing arteries and blood vessels.

Powered by the company’s Ultreon 1.0 software, the system automatically detects the severity of calcium-based blockages and measures vessel diameter to inform decision-making during coronary stenting procedures.

The optical coherence tomography device uses near-infrared light to deliver high-definition, precise imaging from within a blood vessel. The artificial intelligence (AI)-powered software features a customizable user interface and automatically displays details during preparations for stent placement.
