Perosphere Technologies Obtains CE Mark for Blood Coagulation Meter

Perosphere Technologies’ Coagulometer system has received CE mark certification for measuring blood coagulability in point-of-care settings.

The handheld device is used at a patient’s bedside to measure the clotting time of fresh blood. According to the company, it is the first point-of-care system cleared for direct testing of oral coagulant and low molecular weight heparin for emergency and outpatient settings.

The device features a color touchscreen, barcode reader and a battery with an eight-hour runtime. It delivers results in four to six minutes to determine if a patient is appropriately anticoagulated.
