GE Healthcare’s Deep Learning Tech Cleared for SIGNA 7.0T MRI Scanners

May 17, 2021

GE Healthcare has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for use of its AIR Recon DL, a machine learning-based image reconstruction system, on the company’s SIGNA 7.0 tesla (T) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner.

The technology takes the raw data from the MRI scanner and maximizes the image quality and resolution. It can be used to image anatomy, function, metabolism and microvasculature in the brain and joints in high detail.

AIR Recon DL was previously cleared by the FDA for use on GE Healthcare’s 3.0T and 1.5T MRI scanners.
