Axonics’ Sacral Neurostimulator Cleared in Europe

Axonics has obtained CE mark certification for the latest version of its implantable sacral neurostimulator device, the Axonics r-SNM, which is designed to treat overactive bladder and fecal incontinence.

The latest version reduces how frequently the device needs to be charged, requiring only an approximate one-hour charge once a month. And the device’s remote control, which was also CE marked, simplifies the process of full-body magnetic resonance imaging by eliminating the need for patients to revisit the implanting physician’s office.

The company previously received FDA clearance for the implantable device and its accompanying remote control last year.
