Safe Orthopaedics’ Osteoporotic Fracture Treatment Cleared in Europe

May 25, 2021

Safe Orthopaedics has received CE mark certification for Sycamore, a device designed to help manage bone fractures caused by osteoporosis.

The minimally invasive implant helps to improve the initial treatment of one or more bone fractures and reduces the risk of recurrence in patients with osteoporosis. Safe Orthopaedics has shown that the device can increase the strength of a reconstructed vertebra by more than 30 percent, reducing the risk of postoperative vertebral collapse.

The French company said that it is launching a multicenter study of Sycamore in France and Germany and expects to be marketing the device globally by 2022.
