CooperVision Receives European Clearance for Nighttime Myopia Contacts

CooperVision has earned the CE mark for its Procornea DreamLite night lenses for slowing the progression of myopia.

The custom-made contacts are worn at night to help correct patients’ nearsightedness and are taken out during the day. The CE mark clears the lenses for use in children and young adults.

Seriously progressed myopia increases the risk of vision-threatening conditions, such as retinal detachment, glaucoma, early cataracts and myopic maculopathy. It’s estimated that myopia will affect the vision of approximately 5 billion people worldwide by 2050.
