Spectrum Spine Adds Implant Surface Technology to Portfolio

June 4, 2021

Spinal device developer Spectrum Spine announced that it has acquired an exclusive license for BIOBraille, a laser system that encourages bone growth.

The company plans to use the BIOBraille technology, developed by Tampa, Fla.-based Bone Pharm, to “provide unsurpassed bone growth activation in spinal and orthopedic devices that may reduce inflammation, speed the process of strong and durable fusion, and lead to superior outcomes for patients having spinal surgery,” Spectrum Spine said.

The company has received six FDA 510(k) clearances for its spinal device systems to date, including its Bridge laminoplasty system for relieving pressure on the spinal cord.
