Roche’s At-Home COVID-19 Rapid Test Cleared in Europe

Roche has received CE mark certification for its SARS-CoV-2 antigen nasal self-test for use by patients at home.

An earlier version of the COVID-19 test has been commercially available in parts of Europe since February through a special regulatory pathway for emergency use, but the CE mark certification represents the test’s official clearance.

Patients can take the nasal swab test without any special training and get results in 15 minutes showing whether they are likely to be infectious.
