FDA Approves Medtronic’s Long-Lasting Implantable Neurostimulator

June 14, 2021

Medtronic has been given FDA approval for Vanta, an implantable neurostimulator that provides tailored pain relief.

The device does not need to be recharged and can provide personalized pain relief for up to 11 years, the company said. It features a built-in accelerometer that adapts to the patient’s movement and body position.

The implanted device stimulates the patient’s spinal cord to provide pain relief, adjusting the stimulation to maintain each patient’s optimal dose.
