Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine Gets Two More European Manufacturing Sites

The European Medicines Agency has given the go-ahead for production of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine at two more European sites.

One site, operated by Allergopharma, is in Reinbek, Germany. The other, in Stein, Switzerland, is operated by Novartis Pharma. The plants will perform different stages of finished product manufacturing.

The approval, which takes effect immediately, will support the continued supply of the vaccine in the EU, the agency said.
