New View Surgical’s Laparoscopic Surgery Device Gets FDA’s 510(k) Clearance

Boston-based New View Surgical has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its VisionPort System for laparoscopic surgery.

The device provides surgeon-controlled imaging using a two-camera design that offers multiple, simultaneous views of the anatomy and surgical instrumentation.

The VisionPort system is intended for use in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the thoracic and abdominal cavities, and it is adaptable to a variety of surgical environments, the company said.
