Austria’s Interventional Systems Gets 510(k) Clearance for Medical Robot
July 1, 2021
The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance to Interventional Systems’ Micromate robot for percutaneous surgical procedures.
The table-mounted robot allows physicians to use their preferred surgical instruments for a variety of noninvasive image-guided procedures. The miniature guidance system can work with computerized tomography or fluoroscopy equipment.
The robotic device is being marketed in the U.S. for spinal fusion procedures through the Austria-based firm’s partner company, Fusion Robotics.
