Anchora Medical Gets FDA 510(k) Clearance for Su2ura Surgical Suturing Device

Anchora Medical has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its Su2ura Approximation Device, a suturing device used in laparoscopic surgery.

The sterile, single-use device, which is operated through a 5-millimeter laparoscopic port, uses tiny stainless-steel anchors on a surgical thread to create sutures that the surgeon adjusts for precision suturing in small spaces.

The Su2ura device is cleared for the placement of interrupted or running stitches in soft tissue, according to the Israel-based company.
