Siemens Healthineers Gets FDA 510(k) Clearance for Magnetic Resonance Scanner

Siemens Healthineers has earned 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its Magnetom Free.Max magnetic resonance scanner.

Designed for use in orthopedic centers, emergency rooms, outpatient centers and intensive care units, the scanner is less than 80 inches high and weighs less than 3.5 tons.

The Magnetom Free.Max has a 31.5-inch opening that is suitable for scanning extremely obese and claustrophobic patients, the company said.
