ZOLL Medical Gets FDA Clearance for Traumatic Brain Injury Software

ZOLL Medical has received 510(k) marketing clearance from the FDA for a new traumatic brain injury (TBI) feature on its Propaq M monitor and Propaq MD monitor/defibrillator.

The Chelmsford, Mass.-based subsidiary of Japanese chemical company Asahi Kasei describes the new dashboard as providing clinical decision support for managing TBI patients.

The TBI dashboard displays numeric and graphical trend data on hypotension, hypoxia and hyperventilation. The feature was already available on Propaq devices marketed outside the U.S.
