ELITechGroup Gets CE Mark for Saliva-Based COVID-19 Test

Turin, Italy-based ELITechGroup has received the CE mark for the saliva-based version of its ELITe MGB Kit for detecting COVID-19 infection.

The kit, which previously earned CE mark certification in September 2020 for use with nasopharyngeal, nasal and oropharyngeal swabs, uses the company’s ELITe InGenius polymerase chain-reaction (PCR) equipment.

The less-invasive, saliva-based tests are more suitable for repeated screening in settings such as schools and workplaces, the company said.
