BD’s Cor PX/GX System for Infectious Disease Testing Gains FDA Approval

Becton, Dickinson (BD) has received FDA approval for its automated high-throughput infectious disease diagnostic system, BD Cor PX/GX along with its BD Onclarity HPV assay.

The BD Cor PX/GX system, which uses robotics and sample management software algorithms, is modular and scalable, with capacity for reagents and samples that provide up to eight hours of processing.

The Franklin Lakes, N.J.-based company plans to market its BD Onclarity HPV assay to high-throughput labs that process a majority of cervical cancer screening specimens in the U.S.
