Omeza’s Wound Care Collagen Matrix Cleared

Sarasota, Fla.-based Omeza has received the FDA’s 510(k) clearance for its Omeza Collagen Matrix, a drug/device combination product for chronic wound care.

The matrix is made of hydrolyzed fish collagen infused with cod liver oil — which acts as a skin protectant — and other plant-derived oils and waxes. The product is designed for use with both regular and irregular wound beds to promote natural wound healing, Omeza said.

When applied to a wound surface, the matrix is naturally incorporated into the wound over time, the company said.
