Masimo Gets CE Mark for Rainbow SuperSensor Blood Monitor

Masimo has earned a CE mark for its single-patient-use adhesive Rainbow SuperSensor, which continuously measures 12 blood constituent components.

The device uses 12 LEDs to simultaneously show such indicators as oxygen saturation, total hemoglobin, carboxyhemoglobin, methemoglobin, the oxygen reserve index, pulse rate, respiration rate, the perfusion index, fractional oxygen saturation and oxygen content.

Among other uses, the noninvasive monitoring device can reduce rapid response team activations, intensive care unit transfers and the cost of care, the company claims.
