Invenio Imaging Gets CE Mark for NIO Laser Imaging System

Santa Clara, Calif.-based Invenio Imaging has earned a CE mark certification for its NIO laser system, which produces microscopic anatomy images for use during surgical procedures.

The system produces images of unprocessed tissue specimens without sectioning or staining, enabling evaluations without the need for a laboratory. The tissue samples are mounted in a custom slide and can be retrieved later for lab analysis.

The digital images can be shared instantly for review by pathologists and surgeons using existing hospital IT infrastructure, the company said.
