Cognitive, Thornhill Get U.S. Army Funding for Device Interoperability, Remote Control

October 18, 2021

Cognitive Medical Systems and Thornhill Medical are getting a $853,668 research grant from the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command to work on ways to improve medical device interoperability and remote control.

The aim is to address pandemic conditions and a growing need to support prolonged emergency care for the military in the field.

“A flexible, dynamic capacity to safely meet local critical care demand using remotely controlled and eventually autonomous medical devices has emerged as an opportunity for innovation which this award will support,” the companies said.
