Quest Gets EUA for COVID-19 Specimen Collection Kits

Quest Diagnostics has received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the FDA for its COVID-19 Collection kits.

Under the EUA, individuals aged 18 and older can use the kits to collect nasal samples themselves, those age 16 and 17 can use the kits themselves but under adult supervision, and those age two to 15 can do the collection with adult assistance. The samples are then sent to a laboratory for molecular testing.

The COVID-19 Collection kits are intended to speed large-scale testing involving many people at once, such as in primary or secondary schools or the workforce, the company said.
