Claritas HealthTech Gets 510(k) Clearance for iRAD Image Enhancement Software

Claritas HealthTech has received the FDA’s 510(k) clearance for its iRAD medical image enhancement software.

The software, which produces a significantly enhanced image while ensuring there is no alteration or degradation, can be integrated into radiologists’ existing picture archiving and communication systems, the Singapore-based company said.

The software can enhance magnetic resonance, computed tomography and X-ray images through noise reduction and improvement in the contrast and “entropy” — a statistical measure used to characterize the texture of an image.
