GE Healthcare Reports Supply-Chain Problems

November 1, 2021

GE Healthcare, a segment of the corporate giant that includes medical devices, is still suffering from supply-chain problems due to the pandemic, the company’s third-quarter financial results show.

Revenues of $4.3 billion decreased 5 percent “due to ongoing industrywide supply shortages,” the company said. Among other setbacks, semiconductor shortages are causing problems for all kinds of products that use electronics, including devices.

GE blamed flat margins for its healthcare segment on inflation and lower “life care solutions” equipment revenue associated with the company’s partnership with Ford to deliver ventilators to the Department of Health and Human Services.
