Pfizer May Settle Lawsuit Against Ex-Employee Over Stolen Files

Pfizer has asked a federal judge to delay a December 9 hearing to allow more time to reach a settlement with a former employee it accused of stealing more than 12,000 files.

The documents include proprietary information related to the company’s COVID-19 vaccine and two cancer drugs, according to the complaint against Chun Xiao Li filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.

Pfizer said Li uploaded the documents to her personal drive and devices shortly before she was set to begin working at Xencor, a Monrovia, Calif.-based biotech. Xencor withdrew its employment offer.
