Qiagen and DiaSorin Gain Premarket Approval for TB Test

Qiagen and DiaSorin have received the FDA’s premarket approval for their Liaison QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus assay for tuberculosis, which is used on DiaSorin’s Liaison XS analyzers.

The assay, which tests for T-cells that have encountered tuberculosis bacteria, provides streamlined laboratory automation for tuberculosis screening.

The assay will help meet the increasing demand for tuberculosis detection, particularly in larger reference laboratories and hospitals, the companies said.
