Avinger’s TigerEye Catheter Gets FDA Clearance

The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance to Avinger’s TigerEye catheter for getting past blockages in the peripheral vasculature.

The device, which features a high-speed rotating tapered tip and optical coherence tomography (OCT) guidance, facilitates the placement of conventional guidewires beyond total occlusions.

The TigerEye catheter is used prior to other interventions such as angioplasty, atherectomy or stent placement.
